We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team. As a Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our projects and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. If you have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, we want to hear from you.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Input & Update Project Budget: Enter project budget details accurately into the accounting software to establish a comprehensive financial framework for the project, and update regularly ensuring alignment with the latest project changes and documentation.

• Produce Weekly Cost Reports: Prepare and generate weekly cost reports that analyze project expenses, including labor, materials, and other costs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

• Track/Audit Subcontracts: Monitor and review subcontracts to ensure adherence to project budgets and contracts, performing regular audits to identify any discrepancies or potential cost overruns.

• Assist Project Management in Cost Forecasting: Collaborate with project management teams to develop accurate cost forecasts, providing financial insights and recommendations to support effective decision-making.

• Update Project WIP (Work in Progress): Maintain and update the WIP schedule, tracking project costs, revenues, and billing milestones to determine accurate revenue recognition and project profitability.

• Assist Project Management with Cash Flow Analysis/Reporting: Support project management in analyzing and reporting on cash flow, highlighting any potential liquidity issues or opportunities for optimization.

• Update Project Budget & Contract Values in Sage/Procore: Regularly update project budget and contract values in the Sage/Procore system, ensuring alignment with the latest project changes and documentation.

• Produce Monthly Applications for Payment: Prepare and submit accurate monthly applications for payment based on project milestones and contractual terms, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

• Proven experience as a Project Accountant or similar role in the construction industry.

• Proficiency in Sage 100 Contractor and Procore a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of construction accounting principles and regulations.

• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
