The Chief Financial Officer will be a key component of the executive leadership team.  This role will primarily be responsible for managing day to day financial operations of the organization, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, planning, tax, treasury, and compliance. The CFO will also ensure that proper systems, procedures, and internal controls are consistently in place to support effective financial and accounting operations, maintain compliance with GAAP and federal compliance, and achieve successful audits.

Job Description- CFO, Company Confidential

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Handle overall responsibility for cash management and strategic planning for all operating areas of the Company, including complex analysis, tax structuring and compliance.

  • Perform due diligence for proposed transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing;

  • Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior management, lending institutions, outside auditors and legal counsel.

  • Develop organization budget to meet strategic goals and ensure contract compliance.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and year-end closing in a timely manner.

  • Support the organizational budget process and ongoing forecasting and variance analysis.

  • Supervise the preparation, review, and analysis of all financial reports for management, lenders, and financial partners, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flows as well as engage in necessary review with senior management on significant variances.

  • Mentor and direct the daily work of a diverse team, ensuring all work is processed efficiently and meets internal deadlines.

  • Collaborate closely with senior management to ensure a solid understanding of accounting and finance policies and procedures, proactively explores continuous system and process improvements and how the finance function can support overall operations.

  • Develop appropriate analytical and forecasting tools in cooperation with the various department heads.

  • Hiring, training, mentoring, and supervising the accounting staff.

  • Responsible for managing the tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local agencies for corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.

  • Work closely with human resources on matters related to company employee benefits and retirement plans, and employee-related costs.

  • Make certain that proper accounting policies, procedures and internal controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the Company and to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Manage risk effectively.
     

Required Education and Experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting information systems, preferably Provision

  • Experience in the implementation and management of multi-functional systems in the areas of HRIS/Payroll, service data reporting and utilization, and third-party payer systems

  • BS degree

  • MBA and CPA preferred

  • Minimum 10 years progressive private sector accounting experience

  • Strong leadership and team building traits

  • Committed, pragmatic, ethical, performance-driven personality 

  • Strong strategic, analytical and planning skills

  • Experience managing and implementing an ERP or similar system.

  • Experience in food manufacturing industry is a plus
