Associate Construction Project Manager

Primary Role:
1. Completing choice and spec sheets to obtain vendor pricing to prepare bids.  This position will also assist with the project kickoff and transition of successful bids from the estimating team to the project management team.

2. Assisting the sales team with preparing and sending out proposals.

3. Assist the project management team with buying out selected vendors.

4.  Assisting the project management team during the construction and installation process.

5. Sending out invoices and payable checks and assisting the project management team with the close out process.

The ideal candidate will should be able to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications, as well as have excellent follow up and communication skills.  This is an ideal opportunity for recent graduates or those looking to further their construction management careers.  STEM Solutions LLC promotes from within wherever possible - the previous person in this position was just promoted- so this is an excellent opportunity to start your career in construction management.

Candidates must be proficient with MS Excel and MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, and should have prior experience or training reading and interpreting construction documents.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for knowledge of product line and the general commercial lab space facilities industry knowledge

• Analyze drawings and specifications to ensure that choice and spec sheets are accurately completed

• Review architectural specifications and drawings and to assist in writing timely RFI’s

• Document, organize and maintain vendor and project information

• Manage bid process to ensure bid is on time

• Monitor and respond to phone or email messages promptly
   

Qualifications​

• Preferred: Vocational High School or Associates degree in related field

• Candidates must be proficient with the MS Office suite of products

• The ideal candidate should be able to read and interpret construction documents, including architectural drawings, although training is provided in this area at the associate level.

• Candidate must have the ability to work on tight deadlines

• Knowledge of architectural drawing & technical specifications, and trade scopes definitions

• Division 11 and 12 knowledge or experience a plus

• Dependable and self-motivated

• Attention to detail and organized

• Driven, strong, work ethic

• Strong math and computer skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel- assessment is provided

• Must be able to reliably commute into the Wakefield, MA office daily- this is NOT a telecommuting position.

Compensation:

• Hourly, part-time, entry level with opportunity to grow in sales, estimating, or project management in the construction industry.
